Hello,

my name is Ruqian.

I am pursuing a Master Degree in Interaction Design at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I enjoy executing a collaborative, user-centered design process, and creating integrated and trusted resources, in order to shape satisfying experiences and meet stakeholders’ value expectations. I like to stick post-its on walls and draw napkin sketches. I love to work, live and play with those who aspire to improve themselves and the world around them.

I also graduated from the Master of Product Development program at Carnegie Mellon University in 2009, which promotes industrial designers to play a more substantial role in the product development process. This degree is jointly offered by the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the School of Design, with support from the Tepper School of Business.

I have a B.S. in Industrial Design from Donghua University (China Textile University) in Shanghai, my lovely hometown in China. I believe it is beneficial for a designer to have the insight of an artist as well as the mind of a scientist.
